Leaping into space.
Can an old dog learn new tricks? Stay tuned for the answer. I'm venturing into uncharted territory with this blog, sharing my thoughts about my writing and the many factors that influence the process.
Right now, I'm working on a fourth book in my Cameron's Pride series for Harlequin Heartwarming. I'm flying without a parachute -- no contract, no advance, and worst of all, no deadline. I sweated blood to deliver manuscripts and then revisions in a timely manner on my first three books for Heartwarming, with varying success. This time, my editor, my agent, and I have a loose handshake agreement that I should submit this book with no obligations on either side. If Heartwarming likes the result, great. I'm excited about this project; it's developing into an exciting ride with a surprise ending.
Having no deadline has proved to be a blessing; the first few months of 2018 were stormy -- endless snows, health problems, and personal issues. I've slogged ahead, taking refuge in my invented world when reality becomes just too wearisome. Now it's time to power up before my readers forget about the Cameron family of Cameron's Pride.
